Caffeine

Does caffeine make life difficult for you sometimes?

Like I can't start my day without a soda or sweet tea (I hate the taste of coffee) if I don't get a caffeine boost my day is terrible right off the bat. If I drink caffeine after noon I won't sleep at night. Tonight I drank soda at dinner without thinking about it so tomorrow is already ruined because I'll sleep in too late. And guess what I'll need to even get out of bed tomorrow?

Have you ever had withdrawal symptoms from not having caffeine within a set amount of time?

Have you ever had way too much and been super hyper / crashed later ?

ohmygoshyouguys I love energy drinks they make me taste sounds I used to drink two a day in high school but now I'm old and I'm completely off the wall wired after only half of one. Then four hours later I zZzzzZzzzZzz...

It depends. I work at a dunkin donuts so I'm surrounded by coffee on the regular. I see people take their coffee all sorts of different ways. I usually take my coffee black but more than coffee I LOVE the taste and feeling of having an espresso in the morning when I am running on no sleep, like if I'm up all night studying and can't get any sleep before an exam or have to work the morning shift after working the night shift, espresso is great. Other than that I prefer to drink green tea with honey. It's good for the metabolism, not as much caffeine and honey is good for my skin.

Green tea with honey is great for cold winter nights, green tea with mint is great for warm summer days. Honey Vanilla Chamomile tea is a magical potion that heals sore throats, relaxes achy muscles, and helps you fall asleep fast. Imma go brew a cup now.

I was told espresso is like a shot except with caffeine instead of alcohol. Is this an accurate comparison?

I would say yes. Espresso is a way stronger way of getting caffeine than a cup of coffee. A small cup can wake you up way better than a cup of coffee can. It gives you exactly what you're looking for, that way you can avoid all the sugar/cream/milk/other stuff people put in their coffee and get that energy boost from caffeine in it. Chamomile tea sounds good.

Personally I don't understand the whole sugar/cream/milk thing with coffee or tea. It adds too much to the already potent natural flavors.

Of course I always provide it when I have tea parties with my friends. Cookies too.

Yes I do have tea parties with my friends... or I did before I moved...

Caffeine is one of the most amazing things humanity has. It is one of the greatest addictions there is. Sure you can have withdrawal symptoms but who cares? Why would you want to stop anyway? It allows you to concentrate and work harder. You'll be more active and It's found that coffee helps for a lot of diseases as well.
Not all addictions are bad. There are addictions that affect your life positively coffee is one of them.

My blood probably has it's own caffeine content. I am thankfully down from about 10-12 cups a day to about 5 though.

Ever since I got my current job I've ramped up my caffeine intake by 10,000%. I drink a couple 5 Hour Energies, Monsters, Red Bulls and Mountain Dews everyday. It's stupidly difficult trying to stay up during work without that stuff, but I attribute most of that to my body just not adjusting to working nights (don't ever do 3rd shift, I'm warning you). On my off days I'm fine because I'm up during the day and my body can handle that naturally, but when I have to work it wants to shut down so I either take all that caffeine or my night is s***, and I can't afford to have a s*** night here.

I've drank maybe two coffees in my lifetime. People say I'll "absolutely need them at work", but I work ~50 hours a week fine with just water. Personally I think they say that due to their own experience. I just can't stand the taste.

As for coke and stuff, I only really drink that if I'm at the movies or need a quick energy burst.

On a list of things making my life difficult, caffeine would be ranked pretty low

how old are you? I feel like I didn't need coffee until I was in my mid 20s. Maybe it also has to do with the fact that I'm terrifyingly out of shape.

I drink a lot of coffee, because I'm literally tired all the time. I have no idea why.

I could have anywhere between 2 - 5 cups a day.

The only con that I can think of is when I don't have coffee I get killer headaches.

I also love Monster. Too bad you can only have one a day though. I could easily drink a four pack a day.

Maybe you're tired so much because you've built a dependence to caffeine to stay awake. Now without the caffeine your body doesn't know how to function without it o_o.

Yea but too much of anything can be a bad thing lol. When I'm tired I usually just eat a huge meal and than fall asleep shortly afterward.

I'm 21. I find it's more food I need at work than anything else.
